On the first page, you will need to give up a "friend's" email address. I use friends in quotes, because you might want to use a secondary email address of your own. Although I signed up and haven't received any emails at the friend's email address yet.
On the second page, you will need to fill out a short survey. It's not too bad. But be prepared to write 25-50 words about your favorite sport and team.
Tip: If you are already subscribed to ESPN the magazine, you can subscribe someone else in your household. When the first week occurs that you both get the same magazine, just call the customer service phone number in the magazine and ask them to combine your subscriptions (adds a year onto the end of yours).
Tip #2: If you are a subscriber to ESPN the Magazine, you also get free access to ESPN Insider on ESPN.com (usually pretty expensive).
